About Project

When Jim joined the Zoo’s education department, they had just lost their leader, they were short-handed working on over 40 individual programs, and they were not measuring their overall educational impact to the Zoo.  He led 11 managers through a strategic alignment process where they developed a department mission, vision, metrics for success, and alignment to the Zoo’s overall goals.  Their next step was to match the success criteria inherent in their new mission and vision to their existing programs to see which ones made the grade and which ones didn’t.  After that, they looked at where they needed to invest in themselves and staff (skills, culture, systems, etc) to execute on their vision.
